Magic finds a way

I know I said I cancelled todays shoot but I'm happy to be called a liar. Dan Moxon's band small fame played at the sweatshop tonight and we managed to film it as well as get in a great scene with Keith and Randall.

And I thought the weekend was gonna be a bust.

Cancelled this weekend

Due to people not wanting to be a part of the magic we cancelled our shoot this weekend.

Took the weekend off

I just started a new full-time job and Mona is feeling sick so we decided it was OK to take this weekend off. We'll be back at it next weekend though. I'm hoping we'll be filming two scenes with just as many bands.

TranceLucent Tendencies

We had our first electronic duo come and lay down a crazy track today. There was champagne and random lyrics a-plenty. The mixing session (sometime in December) should be just as fun. Paul and Bianca were great and I can't wait to work with them again.

anytime randall (played by steve) is on set, everyone knows to expect random hilarity.

steve is so committed to the part he wears a different awesome sweater for each shoot.

steve is comic genius.

Footage piling up

We've now got a ton of footage to wade through. I image We're about a 1/4 of the way done on this film. We just have to see where these scenes take us and then go from there. I feel we are building something yet I don't know the final outcome. Using your camera as a pen is scary but ultimately a very rewarding endeavor.

Also, this was Jono's last day of shooting. He's going to Korea to teach kids. We'll miss him.

Next day of shooting is the 15th.

Day 5 Oh, my

Seriously great stuff with Steve (Randall) and Dan (Kalen). I was laughing so hard I could hardly hold the camera still. I can't wait for you all to see this footage. Now I just have to do as good a job editing as they've done improvising.

Schedule mania

I just scheduled 7 more days of shooting. All of these scenes take place at the Hive between the 4th and 29th of November. I finally get to have Sylvie, Randall, and Kalen interact with musicians. I'll have some photos and screen grabs for you in the next couple of days.

Day 3 and 4

Day 3

We are moving along. We had a great time with Sylvie and Keith. We got to film in Joanna's apartment and that was great, she already had the place set-decked. A wall of vinyl was the best part for me.

Day 4

Jono and Sylvie had a super-sweet scene together and they even got to smoke some of the pot. After we shot this scene I knew this movie was gonna be great. I suspected that before but I know that now.

I just scheduled more shooting days. Whew! Hopefully everyone can make it.

the energy between keith (played by dan) and sylvie (played by joanna) was awkwardly appropriate for the story development. and keith treated us to some sad keyboard playing. i'm already in love with this film.
